As a group* Webmaster, you need to understand the different types of accounts associated with WBCCI.net and what they are for.As a Webmaster you will have at least two accounts: One for your group’s Email, Calendar and Docs; and the other for its website at WBCCI.net. The two are NOT interchangeable, and BOTH are transferable, which simply means they are not your’s personally, but as the representative for the group, and should be passed on. (Don’t worry though, when you are ready, you can create your own, personal @wbcci.net account for Email, Calendar and Docs, as well as accounts for all the members of your group). Here are summaries of all the account types, including two additional account types for individual members:ACCOUNT TYPE 1: Group Email, Calendar and Docs AccountThis is the first account type you will need. It is what you use to log in to and manage your group’s Email, Calendar and Docs Account.

  • What it looks like: This is the first part of your group’s email address. For example, if your group’s email address is “0039@wbcci.net”, then your user name is “0039″
  • Where it comes from: This was automatically created for each group. It was sent to you at the email address you used when you requested a Webmaster Account.
  • Where it is used: http://wbcci.net/email.
  • Password: The password for this account was sent to you at the email address you used when you requested a Webmaster Account.

ACCOUNT TYPE 2: Website AccountThis is what you use to log in to and manage your group’s website Dashboard, the administration area were you add content to your website.

  • What it looks like: It is the first part of your website’s address, which is what is entered in a web browser to visit your website. For example, if your website address is “http://southernillinois.wbcci.net”, then your user name to administer the website is “southernillinois”.
  • Where it comes from: You selected this when you created your group’s website.
  • Where it is used: http://wbcci.net/wp-login.php
  • Password: The password for this account was emailed to your group’s @wbcci.net email account when you activated its website.

ACCOUNT TYPE 3: Individual Member AccountsIndividual Member Accounts are for individual Email, Calendar and Docs accounts.

  • What it looks like: This is the first part of an “@wbcci.net” email address (just like a group’s). For example, for the WBCCI.net email address “schwartz6111@wbcci.net”, the user name is “schwartz6111″

  • Where it is used: http://wbcci.net/email.
  • Password: The passwords for individual accounts are also created by Unit Webmasters when setting up individual member accounts.

ACCOUNT TYPE 4: WBCCI.net AccountsThis type of account is necessary if you would like to allow others in your group to contribute to your its website. It allows others to log in to your website’s Dashboard at http://YOURSITE.wbcci.net/wp-login.php. Individuals first must have an “@wbcci.net” account.

  • What it looks like: This can be any combination of 4-characters that isn’t already in use.
  • Where it comes from: It is selected when the account is set up here. (Note: As a webmaster, you should NOT create this type of account. Please ask the person you would like to contribute to your website to set it up at http://wbcci.net/wp-signup1.php)
